Snickers’ Story

Snickers

This absolutely adorable pup is Snickers. As cute and sweet as she is, her life used to be quite sad - she was abused by her former owner. Snickers was left in a dirty, tiny crate all day. Her owner burned her head and back with cigarettes, and left her burns untreated.

Fortunately, a kind woman found a way to rescue her from her cruel owner and her little life took a turn for the better. Snicker’s new mom, Rosie, needed a therapy dog for her disabilities and Snickers needed a loving mom. Rosie took her to the vet and learned she had bladder stones and other medical issues. Rosy found a way to scrape together the funds for Snickers and for several years Snickers was healthy.

This year Snickers became very ill and lethargic. Her vet recognized she needed to immediately have surgery to remove bladder stones again. This time, with all that happened during Covid, her mom was unable to afford the necessary surgery. Her vet reached out to Glendale Humane Society and requested a grant for Snickers.

With the help of you and other generous donors, Snickers had her surgery. She has recuperated fully and her mom tells us she not only feels better, but she is running around happy and puppy-silly.

Thank you for your donation. We could not do this without your support. Families in our own back yards are in desperate need of getting medical care for their best friends. Without our help these would not be stories with happy endings. Together, we are making it possible for many dogs, cats and even rabbits to get help.

Rosy tells us she feels blessed to have been helped by Glendale Humane and friends. She wrote that we not only saved Snicker’s life, but her life as well.
