Savanna's Story

Savanna

Everyone deserves a home for the holidays. Savannah, an eight-year-old Jack Russell mix, came close to spending hers without a loving family.

Savannah’s devoted father adored her. She was his company and loyal friend after the loss of his wife. He doted on her and she gave back with true friendship.

Sadly, he passed away and left Savannah without a home. The next-door neighbor had not seen Savannah’s dad for several days and when she checked on him, she found that he has passed away.

Savannah was by his side and frightened. The neighbor called his family but unfortunately, no one could take her into their home. What was to happen to this pup who had loved and been loved?

Glendale Humane Society received a call from a concerned friend and at once began a process to find Savannah a safe and loving new home. Our foster-volunteer, MamaTricia, drove out to the West side, picked her up, and took Savannah to her home. Glendale Humane brought her to the vet and had bloodwork, x-rays and other necessary lab work to identify any medical issues. She was found to be healthy and ready for a new life.

One of the senior-dog rescues we work with accepted her into their group and set up immediate accommodations for her. Mama Tricia drove her to San Diego and placed her in the arms of a trusted volunteer. Two days later, we received a note that Savannah had found a new home with a mom and dad. She will be going to work with her new family in their small retail business and her job will be to share her sweet personality and charming ways with the public.Savannah is home for the holidays, she has found her forever home.

We love happy endings and are so proud of the work we do for companion animals who come our way. Glendale Humane could not do this without your generous donations. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

May your holiday season be filled with joy and love. May you be blessed with good health and loving friends and family.
