Wombat's Story

Wombat

When canine companions and feline friends are sick, it breaks our hearts. When medical help could save or extend their life and the pet parent lacks money to pay for medical assistance, it is tragic.

With the help of your generous donation, Glendale Humane is able to help many families with medical costs for their loved ones. We appreciate your continued support and continue to share with you how you have helped.

Stephanie, Wombat’s mom, rescued her from a parking lot in Panorama City. Stephanie went by herself and caught the entire family and brought them home. As a foster for a rescue group, Stephanie knew it was going to be difficult to place the tiny black kitten. She was a sickly kitten and unfortunately biases against black cats is still an issue.

Foster parents for felines and canines often keep the difficult to place kids in their care. So it was with Stephanie and Wombat. Over the last few years Stephanie has cared for her, Wombat has had many medical issues. The latest health issue required mouth surgery, teeth extractions and ear cleaning while under anesthesia. The cost was too great for Stephanie.

Because people like you donate to Glendale Humane, we were able to pay for Wombat’s medical. She is home now, rubbing Stephanie’s ankles in appreciation and love. Her appetite is back, she is eating with vigor.

Thank you for helping make this happen for Wombat.
