Pumpkin’s Story
“Nothing short of a miracle” and a little help from his friends. That’s what the vet said about Pumpkin.
A local vet reached out to us for financial help for beautiful orange tabby, Pumpkin. The cat had lived outdoors for five years. His owner fed him but he received no medical during the five-year period.
An independent rescuer had offered to find him a home many times but her requests were denied. When his eye became inflamed and bloody the rescuer was allowed to take him. She brought him to her trusted vet and with Glendale Humane’s grant for his medical bills,Pumpkin’s story on his road to recovery began.
After many attempts to identify the condition through biopsy and treat with medications, it was determined Pumpkin needed to be seen by a specialist. The news was grim. They could not help Pumpkin and recommended the kindest approach was euthanasia. The rescuer took him to her home to keep him safe until it was time to say good-bye.
Her own vet offered one more attempt at combating Pumpkin’s medical issues and the rescuer took home new medication.
Last week, Glendale Humane received a photo of Pumpkin. There he was in all his handsome glory. Two beautifully healthy eyes were looking at us! We all cried tears of joy that Pumpkin’s life took a happy turn.
The rescuer, the local vet, Glendale Humane, and you, dearest friend, with your generous donation, gave Pumpkin’s story a happy ending. We appreciate your continued support and will continue to share with you how you have helped.
